Saint Louis Astronomical Society Identity

The Saint Louis Astronomical Society (SLAS) is an organization devoted to the interest and advancement of the science of astronomy. The inspiration for their identity system came from the stars and moon above, literally. For their logo, I created a custom SLAS word mark with the letter “A” containing a twinkling star. The negative spaces between the four letters also possess hidden crescent moon shapes, suggesting that there is more to discover about the universe. The twinkling star symbol was also developed into a pattern used as a secondary element to the identity.
